Update issues

So it seems and update for the Xbox One was released on 5/1/18. Ever since then my xbox has basically become an overweight brick leaving me unable to sign in, navigate menus, let alone even load my stored games; whether connected or diconnected from the
interwebz. If I have the patience to get into system settings and navigate to "system updates" (takes up to 5 minutes for menus to load), it reads that my update status is "pending". I feel as though the update crashed midway through or the update itself was
incomplete.

Are there any known ways to force the console to reupdate? Or am I just screwed completely? The menu to rename and reset the console wont load fully and allow me to select either option.

The article also when on to note that those with the "Instant On" feature enabled will be first to get the update since it will roll out in waves. Everyone else will received it by Thursday 12/12/13. I for one am very happy to see Microsoft quickly begin to fix the many small issues or bug currently found on the Xbox One. We can only hope they continue to be persistent and hasten.

Yea. Always update when they get released. Thought maybe the new update released last week would fix the issue but this started before the last update. Still same issue.

 

There is a way to do an offline system update if you follow the steps at this link Xbox One System Updates | Offline System Updates

follow these steps:

1. Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.
2. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
3. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.
4. Press and hold the BIND button (located on the left side of the console) and the EJECTbutton (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console.
5. Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
6. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the BINDand EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

When the console powers up, you will see the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter, if available:
