  2. Update too long

The update is taking long depending on the download speed that you have

Scrolling down on this page support.xbox.com/xbox-one/networking/troubleshoot-slow-game-or-app-downloads-on-xbox-one allows you to see how long the full game update would take to download, approximately

    Update is tooooooooooooooooooo long!!!!

I remember when I did a 2GB Update for TDU2 on Xbox 360. That took 4 HOURS to complete. And I'm with Vodafone NZ 100mb/s download 10mb/s upload speed. In most cases it's not our fault nor our ISP's fault. BLAME the servers. The servers sometimes can be sooo
lame they decide to slow down to 1mb/minute download speed. Heaps of people downloading at the same time? Not always the case. The INTERNET INFRASTRUCTURE is also lame too, for 2017. People wanting 4k and 8k. The INTERNET INFRASTRUCTURE can't even handle that,
for the what 8 billion people on our planet? Maybe we're expecting too much from 21st century technology. I've experienced the same with PS4 Pro too (only had PS4 for 10 months and am selling it to help with money for Scorpio. I barely played on it too). Due
to the STATE of the INTERNET INFRASTRUCTURE, you can get viruses on your computer without visiting naughty websites. Open up a webpage or doing an update, boom, your Internet Security Software (eg. AVG/Norton/etc) alerts you to a detection.

As with all things if everything is equal it would take minutes, but Microsoft doesn't own the internet and they also don't have infinite bandwidth, if a lot of people are all trying to download the update at the same time then it will download slowly.

  6. At times it runs slow, I've run bandwidth tests from a computer at the same time - and still have close to all bandwidth left while xbox is running.

    So it's MS servers, alright.

So with pushing everything to cloud, onedrive, digital download purchases - they really need to upgrade their system to par with what they are selling.

Why would you upgrade OneDrive to many TB - to get silly slow downloads from it?

Why would you buy games from Xbox store - to get silly slow downloads from it?

To sell something, you need to deliver quality - or nobody buys.

    Very basic....

  8. Update is tooooooooooooooooooo long!!!!

What I noticed in the last spring updates was that verifying also took very long. - as long as download The verifying seems to work towards MS servers, not go by a checksum or hashcode, it seems.

Maybe they had so much problems with folks not getting system updates to work to such a large degree they made it even slower this way, not trusting hashcodes, which in turn means reading twice and their servers get even more load.

Just to verify a checksum should be done in a flash.

    But I could be wrong....

I think it's a good idea Microsoft implements the Verification technique. I've noticed it in the few updates from the past 2 months. Xbox doesn't get viruses (yet). Genuine reports of a virus on a genuine Xbox 360/Xbox 1 console are negligible. The INTERNET
INFRASTRUCTURE can barely cope with 1080p content let alone 4k. The INTERNET INFRASTRUCTURE is so lame, that it's 2017 and heaps of people are having internet issues even from top ISP's including Vodafone. The INTERNET INFRASTRUCTURE you don't need to do naughty
things to get a virus on your computer. That's why it's a good idea Microsoft VERIFIES the update FIRST to check if anyone has added malicious or non genuine code. I'm sure Microsoft implements security measures in their servers, but even Russian or Chinese
or other hackers can hack into 256 bit encryption or encryption thingy. I think 1TB encryption thingy may be very hard to crack. But then that data still has to get to YOU and since Australia and New Zealand are on the other side of the world from like the
US/UK and since our planet has like over 8 billion people, and the distance between Microsoft's servers, that data still has to get to you. I'm with Vodafone NZ and have 100mb/s download 10mb/s upload. Vodafone is a British company in UK.
