    Update for xbox 360 is failing


    I am trying to update our xbox 360. It has not been updated for a while.

    The code is 4467-0000-0080-0300-8007-2746

    I tried the xbox live connection and i am connected to network and internet. The xbox live connection fails.

    I have tried the hints on the support page but nothing changed.

    Update for xbox 360 is failing

    Paul from the Xbox Forums Team here to assist, it sounds like you're experiencing an issue with updating your Xbox 360. I recommend resetting your network setting to default and then try again to update the console. Please let us know how it goes.

    I restored to factory defaults under "configure network".

    But I am still not able to do the update.

    I tested the xbox live connections. It connects to internet, but fails when it wants to connect to xbox live. I followed the first suggestion to unplug and reconnect to power.

    Then, it says update required as before. "A system update is available from sbox live. If you decline..."

    I tried to apply again, the code (see below) appears again.

    Any ideas? Thank you so much for your help!

    Hi, first off check there is sufficient free space on your main storage device. The update requires around 300mb or so of free space.

    something else to try is to go to settings/ system settings/ storage

    highlight any storage device and press the following buttons in sequence on the controller

    LB RB X LB RB X

    select yes on the next screen, the xbox will restart, then try the update again.

    Mandatory xbox 360 update made my console useless

    It could be that the hard drive is failing. The Xbox is unable to read the drive, thinks that it needs an update but the update will fail because the drive itself is failing. Your 360 might be dead basically.

    Xbox 360 updatedownload, constant fails

    Often in the older 360 consoles with the built in memory unit, this issue will occur.

    When the memory unit fails, the Xbox sees that there's an update available since it can't see the update that was on the storage device. When the Xbox tries to download/install the update, the update can't install because of the failed storage device.

    Does your Xbox 360 have the memory unit and/or the hard drive?
