Games not updating or installing

I've been trying to update overwatch for 3 days and fortnite for 2, fortnite is slowly installing by a few mbs each time the console is turned on however overwatch is not updating at all and it keeps saying "installation stopped"

Youll want to check how much free space you have left on your HDD, if you're out of space or don't have enough for the whole update then it'll not go thru. Are there any other additional errors coming up?

was it a system update or an overwatch update? if it was a system update the disc has nothing to do with it; if it was a game update the disc might be damaged and you may need to replace it.

I believe it was an overwatch update but then why would the xbox scratch up the disc.
