Update Failure; Unknown Error Code + More..

Okay, so I've scoured the internet on this one thinking it was common enough because of all the other issues with the April Update, but I didn't find anything. I purchased this Xbox 360 a thousand years ago (realistically, maybe three or four?) so
obviously the warranty is done and over with. Recently the disc drive quit working as well.

Anyways, my main issue is with, of course, applying the newest update. This began around the beginning of April. I've tried the wired download as well as using a USB drive, and am unable to do the disc option because of the broken disc drive. With
each attempt, I get the same results: "Cannot process update." I can download it fine and it shows up on the Xbox with the USB, but when applying it, that's when the issues begin. It just refuses to work.

The error code I receive is 40A3-416B-1600-0700-C000-000E

The Xbox was working fine before this update came along; no errors, no conflict in operation except the malfunctioned disc drive, and for its dinosaur age I think that's pretty good. Also, any ideas concerning 'throw it away and get a new one' will
be unnecessary. Sadly. I don't have the money and I don't think I will any time soon. It uses Wired connection and we're with Comcast. I have a 3 month Gold Membership. I have done the Xbox Test Connection, to which it fails when connecting to Xbox Live, probably
because it lacks the update. When prompted to update, the same thing I described before happens again. Every other alternate option given in the support area for Xbox Updates has been used, and has failed. Basically, I've tried everything for the past month
- twice. I purchased my membership in April. I have been patient, but now I am starting to get frustrated. Any help would be appreciated.

I keep getting this when COD is trying to update. It won't update and it keeps showing the error and restarting and nothing happens.
