    Update fails


    Hi,

    Every time i try to update my xbox i get an error code.

    Modem/Router Brand and Model Number: Speedport W921V

    Wired or Wireless connection: Wired

    Update Error Code : 3151-40A3-1380-2203-C000-0001

    What you've tried:

    -Restarted

    -Cleared System Cache

    -Reinsert the storage device

    -Update via USB and CD

    -Asked if my console is banned - There is no ban.

    Still no change

    Please Help

    XB1 failing to update

    Speak with xbox support by calling 1-800-4MY-XBOX or go to their forums to find suggestions on how to fix this. The obvious remedies would be turning it off or factory reset. Another thing you could try is disconnecting from your wifi and reconnecting and if that doesn't work, connect to your router or modem via RJ-45.

    I would return it to the store and get a new one.

    System Update Support Page    .

    This error occurs if your console has been tampered with or modified. Your console has been banned from Xbox Live and can no longer connect to Xbox Live, install software updates, or play new games that require a console software update. Learn
    about Xbox Live console bans.

    Physically disconnect your network cable or remove your Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adaptor from the console.

    You can use the following steps to turn off the automatic sign-in so that you can play games offline. To turn off auto sign-in:

    1. Restart your console.
    2. Select No if you are prompted to update your console software.
    3. Press the Guide button on your controller.
    4. Go to Settings and then select Profile.
    5. Select Sign-in Preferences.
    6. Set Profile Auto Sign-in to "Off".
    7. Press B on your controller to return to the Xbox Dashboard.
    Your console can now play your existing games offline. Any future attempts to sign in to Xbox Live or update your console software will result in an error.

    That is interesting as that is what the code you posted suggests. You should contact phone support for more help with it then.

    I'd recommending running through all steps in
    this thread     first so we know the results of all steps. If this doesn't resolve the problem then I'd recommend creating a new thread in the 00 - 2013 Xbox Dashboard Update forums

    The Uninstall thing seems like a new bug / feature added in the latest dash.

    Let's hope they fix it soon.

    I am also experiencing same error. Power recycling does not fix it. I have downloaded update 3 times to no avail.

    I actually had that error of: 3143-397F-1600-2203-C000-0001 on my one console and if I remember correctly that means that the console has been modified or tampered with. I didn't do anything with my console but I found mine was refurbished and so it was
    opened by someone other then Microsoft. If you call into the Xbox Support line they can tell you for sure.
