  4. Update error

    Hello,

Please try clearing the system cache to get rid of temporary files, and try again. If this does not work, you may want to try updating via USB, many people say this fixes their problem.

Here are some common troubleshooting tips that involve the C000 Error Code

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your console had a problem during the update process. Carefully follow these step-by-step instructions:

    1. Eject the disc tray and remove any disc from the console.
Important Don’t close the disc tray. Leave it open.
    2. With the disc tray open, remove the power cord from the back of the console.
    3. Gently push the disc tray about half-way back into the console.
    4. Plug the power cord back into the console.
    5. Push the power button on the console. The tray should close the rest of the way and then the console should restart and display the Xbox Dashboard.
Important Don’t use the controller button or the disc tray eject button to turn on the console for this step.
    6. Try updating your console software again.
The update should now continue. If the above steps don’t work, the console might need to be repaired. Contact Xbox Support using the Assistance section at the bottom of this page.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This error occurs if your console has been tampered with or modified. Your console has been banned from Xbox Live and can no longer connect to Xbox Live, install software updates or play new games that require a console software update. Learn
    about Xbox Live console bans.

Physically disconnect your network cable or remove your Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adaptor from the console.

You can use the following steps to turn off the automatic sign-in so that you can play games offline. To turn off auto sign-in:

    1. Restart your console.
    2. Select No if you are prompted to update your console software.
    3. Press the Guide button on your controller.
    4. Go to Settings and then select Profile.
    5. Select Sign-in Preferences.
    6. Set Profile Auto Sign-in to "Off".
    7. Press B on your controller to return to the Xbox Dashboard.
Your console can now play your existing games offline. Any future attempts to sign in to Xbox Live or update your console software will result in an error.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The update could not be downloaded from Xbox Live. Try the following:

    1. Try installing the update again.
    2. If you’re having problems connecting or staying connected to Xbox Live, see Xbox Live connection problems.
Note You can also update your console software by copying the update to a USB flash drive or a disc and then applying it to the console. See How to get a new Xbox
    360 update
    .

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The console needs to be repaired. Submit an online repair request.
