    Hi, My sister gave me an old Xbox 360 for my girls but when I have tried to download by Xbox Live profile it comes with an update....I proceed with this update until it throws the above error code up. This site states that it is because it has been modded,
    but it hasn't. I have also visited the Xbox Live policy and enforcement website, checked the console and it says it is not banned.......my account is also perfect......can someone please help? I have also tried to do a manual update via USB but the same
    error comes up again.........my connection is fine as my existing Xbox is connected and working online. Hope someone can help.

    Perfect Xbox 360 suddenly won't update: C000-0099 status error

    Hello Arminator,

    Excellent idea. I removed the hard drive and setup a 16GB USB stick as a system drive. I then tried to run the update from a second USB stick but alas the same error message.

    The full error I get when updating via USB is:

    4467-4476-1600-0702-C000-0099

    When I try to update online it is slightly different:

    4467-4476-1680-0702-C000-0099

    Thanks for the novel idea. Does the full code give any more clues?

    usb doesnt work after the prompt after extraction begins

    ive replaced my disc drive since it doesnt read anything including music cds and that didnt help anything.

    Pretty cool that I spent money on games to NOT BE ABLE to play them offline too.

    Def a perk of your services I gotta say. Pretty much if your internet goes out your outta luck, if you cant remember your password your outta luck and if the 9 different options to update dont work, your outta luck.

    Is that about right? Thats how it seems to me (one of your customers).

    Same problem but my code is 4099-40A3-1600-267F-C000-0185. Tried all the troubleshooting many times over (USB update, clearing cache, RB LB X RB LB X) but it's still happening. Any other suggestions?
