update corrupted my xbox

i need support now and its after hours. yestersday's update really messed things up for my sons xbox one. he went to play elden ring and the game froze and crashed. after he rebooted the system all his cloud save data was gone so we unplugged and rebooted again. gaem still wouldnt load and we were getting the code0x87e500033. we checked for more updates for system and game. only update was from 4/9/2022. we tried to reboot the system one more time then we got a new code e102 00000c01 8007045d. when researching this code it said to do an offline update in the support. when we clicked the link our code said we needed to factory reset. what ineed to know is should i wait to see if a new update will come out to fix this or should i reset system. if i need to reset will that erase all my sons game saves from all his games?

The Xbox needs a reset to see if this can still help with the issue. Resetting the console will delete the profiles and updates from the system but your saves and games will still be stored through cloud and will just load up automatically.

Update: I managed to download it and it basically corrupted my Xbox. Woo...

these update repairs dont work ....i have tried every course of action.....XBOX HAS CORRUPTED MY HDD WITH ITS UPDATE .....FIX IT

I had a similar problem, but my code read : 4099-0000-3080-0506-8B05-0018

I went into Xbox storage and found several individual corrupted files. I deleted everything marked corrupted and tried the download again. The download completed. A corrupted files alert showed up and restarted my Xbox. When it booted back up another update
was needed for Xbox live because of the files that had been corrupted and deleted.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We will need to fix the network issue before we get to downloading the profile back and installing your games. Does the console provide an error message when trying to connect to the network? First, we
recommend power cycling the network and console. Be sure to let us know the results!

To perform a power cycle reset, follow these steps:

Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for five minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.
Restart your Xbox One console:
1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Restart console.
4. Select Yes to confirm.
  
  Note If you’re unable to access the guide, or if the console appears to be frozen, press and hold the
  Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds, until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the
  Xbox button on the console again to restart.
After five minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.
If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.
