Update bricked my Xbox One!

So last Monday I awoke to see an update waiting for my Xbox One. I set it off. About an hour later I came back to it and the screen was off, as was the white front light.

I pressed the light/button to turn it on, nothing, so I thought I'd leave it alone in case it was still up to something, and left home for a couple days on a short trip.

I got back last night and it was still dead. Today I tried a bunch of things:

- Removed power, waited a couple minutes, re-connected. Nothing.

- Removed all cables, removed the disc that was in there. Waited 2 hours. Re-connected everything. Nothing.

- Tried inserting a disc to see if it would wake up. Nothing.

Power supply light is orange.

No power surges the day of the update. No storms, it was a beautiful sunny morning.

I can't believe an update has killed my xbox... cmon guys, what gives?

Xbox One Elite controller not working anymore after (failed?) Xbox Accessories firmware upgrade

Just used xbox accesories in windows 10 anniversary to update my xbox one controller and now is bricked. This is *** ridiculous.

 

Im a bit worried!

i've had all the Xbox One updates and neither have bricked my console. i've even had them when in beta and not publicly released.

 

What does "I set it off" mean?

You pulled the plug or turned off power when an update was started?

I think hardest reset is holding two buttons(at disk drive, not long from usb there and power) until it starts and do a full reset of console from a menu or something.

 

I allowed it to start the update (it was sitting there in the screen asking to start or wait).

Thanks for that, didnt know about that one. Didnt work though... held the buttons for 30 seconds then tried the front panel ON button... nada.

 

I had the same issue. Legit paid $120 to get it "repaired" only to find out the issue was with my power brick. Now, I'm out $120 and have to spend $50 to get a new power brick. Microsoft tech support wouldn't refund me for an unnecessary repair and would
not allow me to swap the power brick out in store. Needless to say, I'm pretty pissed considering that I bought 2 Xbox One X's and can't even get this Xbox One "repair" refunded.

It's something going on with the updates. My Xbox one x, freshly out the package hours ago, died on an initial setup download. Now I gotta go back and explain this to someone at the store. Cuz I want my money back for this.

 

I thing I remembbered wrong about buttons - Bind(on the side) + Eject + then Xbox power button.

I looked there for launch Xbox model, there is another options for troubleshooting for S and X models.

Just follow the steps.
