Update Black Screen

Turned on my console and there is an update. So I did the norm of updating, but half way through the install portion my TV went black. Don't know what to do since you're not suppose to turn off or unplug the console during updates.

Will a new hard drive fix black screen ? Lost power during update ,black screen since . Cannot reset

Similar issue. Are you at applying update stage? Once it freezes at around about 65% turn off your console manually and turn it back on (Don't reset), this should take you straight to "preparing update".

Reset your console by holding the xbox logo for 5 to 10 seconds and follow the solution i posted above

I can confirm that the update was stuck at about 65% for me. I tried tapping the power button and waiting ~10 seconds then tapping to turn back on. I tried this about 3 times but it would stall at the same spot each time. I tried unplugging all USB connections
to the console and then doing the tap off and tap on method another 2 times but no success. I decided to hold down the power button for ~5 seconds to completely turn off the console. I waited 30 seconds and then turned the console back on. The install again
stopped at around 65% but I let it sit and after ~5 minutes it continued the install past this point until it finished. I now have the new dashboard and no issues so far .

Just as a heads up, the black screen is normal.

It should be green splash, black screen then dashboard.

After a system update, the black screen can remain for a few minutes before you see anything.

This exact problem happened to me. I just updated and boom just black screen instead of home screen. I click report a problem and it goes to open the app then black screen. I put in a disk and loads up the game screen and then black screen.

Same here, black screen arrived during the update. Is there a way to remove the update?
