    Update and connection help

Okay so I have two issues to deal with: One is game updates, so I noticed this with ACU (Assassin's Creed Unity) when I was installing the game the update message popped up. Nromally I will accept to update now, but at the moment I had to go to class so
I choose "update later," so when the installation was complete I turned off my xbox one and went to class. Hours later, I return to my dorm and played ACU, but no message for an update popped up. So out of curiosity, does the xbone download updates even though
it's off (and I didn't tinker with the system to update while shutting down) or do I have to update it? And if so where and how?

Second issue. I live on on-campus housing, and with the MCC coming out, I can't connect to anything; I know there are issues that being fixed atm, but I'm having issues with connecting to party chats as well; how can I resolve this?

    :)

  2. update failed/status code 369B-000-0080-0300-8007-2741

Hey there Nakls! If you are getting an update error, start by trying an alternative connection, like switching between wireless and wired, and even try a direct connection to the modem. If that doesn't help, try all the steps in this guide (support.xbox.com/.../system-update-help)
for more help. Please post back with what did or didn't work, thanks!

    Update and connection help

The Xbox One has 2 different "off" modes: -

Instant On - This is a little like sleep mode on a PC, instead of doing a full shutdown. When you use this mode, you get the following features: -

Fast boot times, as the console is really just waking up from a sleep mode

Suspend/Resume for games, so you can continue playing from where you left off

Automatic downloading of patches and system updates while the console is off

You can buy items from the Store via SmartGlass and they will download to the console when it's off

If you have Kinect, you can turn the console on by saying "Xbox on"

Energy Saving - This is like fully shutting down a PC, so when you boot it up again, it takes considerably longer. In this mode, it doesn't do any of the things I mentioned above.

Instant On mode draws more power when the console is off and the light on the power supply remains white, so the fan in the power supply will spin constantly. Energy Saving mode draws less power and the light on the power supply turns orange, so that's basically
off as well and the fan stops spinning.

You can switch between these modes in the settings under Power & Startup. If you use the Instant On and you want to turn the console fully off, you can hold your finger on the power button on the front of the console for about 8 seconds and it'll power down
as if it was in Energy Saving mode.

So, yeah, chances are you're using Instant On mode and the console downloaded the patch while you were in class.

As for your second issue, that's almost certainly a NAT issue. Try Googling for "Xbox One nat issue college" and see if you can find any tips for resolving it. If you were using the console at home, there are pretty simple solutions to NAT issues, but it's
different when you're connected to a college network.

I had something similar to your 2nd issue. Me and my partner were playing halo campaign, it kicked me out of the game and suddenly i could get onto any games in multiplayer and i couldn't hear anyone in a party unless they kicked me out the invited me back
in. My partner looked and there was something wrong with the IP address. Im not sure exactly how he fixed it. But if i find out ill post it on here

For issue 2, this happens all too often at colleges campuses or apartment complexes. The only way to change the NAT setting would be to visit the network administrator and ask he or she to open
the required ports for Xbox live
. A little bribe of a six pack of beer or similar works wonders. Update and connection help ;)

    •Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

    •Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

    •Port 80 (TCP)

    •Port 500 (UDP)

    •Port 3544 (UDP)

    •Port UDP 4500 (UDP)

    Good luck.

The error code you recived means that the update could not be downloaded from Xbox LIVE.

the following is 2 links that together should help solve your problem.

    Try the following:

    Try installing the update again.

If you’re having problems connecting or staying connected to Xbox LIVE, see Xbox LIVE connection problems.

    support.xbox.com/.../connection-issues

Note You can also update your console software by copying the update to a USB flash drive or a disc and then applying it to the console. See Troubleshoot console software update problems.
