    Update affecting my console

So after installing the update maybe a week ago I started noticing a few problems that have arisen; three in particular.

    1. When I tell the system to turn off, it gives me the prompt to answer yes or no but if I say either, it simply doesn't register it. The green icon in the right corner notifies me that it hears me but it isn't understanding the "Yes" or "No" voice commands.

    2. Another problem with shut down is when the console is off, the power brick is exerting a humming/whirring sound that sounds like a game is loading whenever it's switched off. It's not a problem in the day time but at night when it is dead quiet, that
is all I can hear. It's like an old PC start up noise, and makes me want to turn off the instant on feature.

    3. The last problem may not be related to the update, but I use the Blu-Ray player quite frequently and upon buying a new Blu-Ray (Game of Thrones season 3 to be specific) and inserting the disc, it simply doesn't work. It begins to load and then freezes
and goes to a black screen but i can still navigate the Xbox One. It isn't a problem with the disc because I've tried it in other Blu-Ray players and it works perfectly fine, and other Blu-Rays work in the Xbox One. I'm hoping the Blu-Ray app just simply needs
    a firmware update.

    :)

  2. okay

This update seems to be affecting 4GB models. By chance, is your Xbox console 4GB?

    WORST SYSTEM EVER

It's not our network issue. It's on your end. You all need to take an in depth review at your last few updates and see how they are affecting consoles. I bought mine in march of 2014. So if you made an engineering changes on producton it is affecting certain
    consoles.

    1. Try recalibrating your Kinect microphone. That sorted mine out.

    2. I would suggest using a can of compressed air on it. My power brick doesn't really make any sounds. If you have pets and/or it's dusty it just may be clogging up and working harder.

    3. Yes I've run across a few blu rays myself that will not play on my Xbox One but they work in my Sony blu ray player. It's just a firmware/java update issue.

Unfortunately those did not work for me. Kinect works perfectly, it just won't register those two commands on shut down. Thanks for the assistance though.

I had the same deal with the kinect not responding to yes or no. I did a soft reset and it seemed to take care of it.

    For #1,

    Try this (sorry, not sure about the other ones);

I was having the exact same issue, and found this answer from another thread which worked for me, I would link it but x-linking is a pain on a mobile device right now (it doesn't seem to auto hyperlink it)

    1. Settings -> Power and Startup

    2. Change 'Power mode' to 'Energy Saving'

    3. Turn off xbox

    4. Leave off for a little while (20sec's)

    5. Go back into Settings -> Power and Startup

    6. Turn 'Power mode' back to 'Instant-on'

    7. Try the "Xbox turn off" voice command again.
