Upcoming System Update Details

I would love friend notifications but only for the ones I have grouped as favorites such as real life friends and family

 

Did 360 have favourited friends? I think that's a pretty good idea, you could turn on the friend online notifications for everyone or favourited friends only or then completely off.

 

The friend online notification should be for anyone you mark as favorite.

A good friend of mine didn't ask me to play anything when he wanted to because he never saw me sign on. Kinda like 'out of sight out of mind' type of thing. Doesn't happen every time but it can happen.

Well they do! <Absolutely! A lot of people do. I find it utterly silly that they removed it. When GOW, Halo, etc. were popular online, I got multiple game invites the moment I turned on my 360 and could be in a game in seconds.
It certainly wasn't magic or intuition letting my friends know when I signed on! Personally I can't believe anyone wouldn't at least see the usefulness of friends notifications in this aspect alone.

And having selectable option to which gives notifications whould be even better. <This is why I find it so silly that they didn't have the option in the first place... just as several people have suggested, the perfect answer
is already there. Notifications for favorites would allow us each to set our own number of notifications to a level we're comfortable with.

The Xbox One feels lifeless and dead to me without this feature. <Same here. I'm happy with my XB1 for the most part, but there are a few things they did that I really don't like.

And I certainly will never have 1000 friends lol .....I'll stick to my select few thanks.
<Doubtful I'd ever have 1k friends either... but even if I did, there would still be that 'select group'... which most people have... that would game together probably more often than all the rest combined and that would be the group
of 'favorites' that I'd want to be notified about coming online.

Misterxmedia has found out that one of these updates will include new drivers to unlock 60% more power on the stacked gpu on the one. The extra power is going to make it more powerful then the ps4. I cannot wait to see the SDF cry and burn!!

 

Misterxmedia is full of crap. It's obvious that what you just read isn't true. Do yourself a favor and don't read that terrible site in the future.

[/quote]On my one it does notify me if I have any friends online. It says on the bottom left how many friends are online. Now when I pop in a game like cod ghost it notifies you on the bottom right of the multiplayer screen if any friends are online. I guess
we are lazy gamers in the end and we need a bubble to pop up with a audio to let us know when buds are online while gaming or using an "app" that do not notify of friends online. I guess. . . Lol

I do, I don't doubt there are controller users that would own me any day of the week even when I used KB/mouse, but I would claim that two equally skilled players, the KB/mouse combo would win in most shooters. Then again if the mouse user had no aim assist
while controller user did, not sure..



The few console MP shooters in the past that did support mouse and KB to be used had seperate lobbies and I think it's a good idea. I don't know if I would really want to play online shooters on consoles anymore if half the people would be using mouse and
KB instead of controller. I love playing on consoles so that I can use a controller on the couch rather than slouching at my desk but going against mouse users would probably pressure me into doing the same and at that point I rather just likely not play.



You are right though that "wouldnt stand a chance" is an overexaggeration, even I myself don't believe that, but it is just much easier to be accurate on a mouse and I think it would cause major imbalance on public servers. Point being that it would most
likely need seperate lobbies to not hurt the gameplay too much.

I like what Collapse said, allow us to mark certain friends as favorites or BFF (joke) that way we won't be overwhelmed by pop ups. The more customization we have, the less complaining we do......I think?

 

I hope this article is true and hopefully will be in the next couple of patches.

I do not think it's silly to have friends notification online I for one would like to know a friend that I play with all the time is online if anything this go around have it so people you would like an online notification for you can have it set..
