Unwarranted Suspension

Hello, my gamertag is "Its Jimbooo". I was suspended from Xbox Live communications today for one week and would appreciate if someone took time to hear my story. Yesterday, I was playing Modern Warfare 2 and came across two players "BOOSTING" each other.
One of their gamertags was "yo Swipe". I proceeded to make it obvious to them that I knew that they were cheating. I wasn't targeting them or harassing them in any way, I just wanted them to know that I was onto their foul gameplay.

After about two or three games of me trying to get in the way of their cheating, "yo Swipe" sent me a message saying "kys" which means kill yourself. I did tell them to shut up in not the nicest way, but it felt like self defense, I was not trying to instigate.
I feel that I got banned because it was the two of them versus me and my report was not seen through. I feel as though since I was acting out of self defense, and my goal was to defend the integrity of the game, my ban should be lifted.

Unwarranted consecutive suspensions

I was suspended a month or so ago with cause, but most of the suspensions I have received are from friends (people on my friends list) "trolling" me. I received ANOTHER banned on Saturday, but I haven't done anything that would warrant it to the best of
my knowledge. Then today, while STILL banned I recurved ANOTHER ban. Now I'm not able to even play online. Can someone in enforcement please pm me with information on why I was double banned? I've spent hours speaking to Xbox and I'm unable to file a enforcement
case review.

Example of previous unfair suspension- 2011 I had a private profile with a curse word on it. One of the people on my friends list reported it because he thought it was funny.

Unwarranted suspension of account

You can't file a case review for 24 hour suspensions.

They wont contact you when they investigate any reports filed against you,they have all the evidence they need already.

As said,you don't get banned for no reason.There's a list of enforcement myths here

Hi, you will need to log in on enforcement.xbox.com and start a case review if it lets you. In future, if you find someone to be cheating, then reporting them using the Xbox reporting feature is the best thing to do. Then the enforcement team can investigate
the report and do something about it.

Thank you very much! I submitted my case review. I understand the notion to report cheaters right away, but I was giving them the benefit of the doubt with showing them that I knew they were cheating and hoping that they would stop but instead I fell victim
to the circumstance. Hoping to regain communications features sooner than later.

Btw I was 85 miles away from my xbox from the Friday to the Monday evening and these suspensions came through whilst i was away. Because they have given me absolutely no information other than its 2 screenshots that apparently violated the terms etc, i can not tell if they are from a period of time in the past or if they were apparently from over the weekend that i was away??? So i am sure you and ANYONE reading these posts can fully understand how frustrating this is! 😩

Thank you for your response. I am in no way surprised that its the way you say it is as that means there is no accountability for their incorrect actions! Microsoft all over! It is also 100% unacceptable and HAS to change! If i am responsible for this suspension then i will happily own and accept it……but i need proof. Not just some spotty pre-pubescent oink with clearly more power than he/she should have!

Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

If your children are a part of your family group, it could be something they have done on their account. This chap realised this when they got suspended: Learning From A Lapse In Judgement - Microsoft Community

Unfortunately, the Enforcement team don't read these forums, and there isn't any way to communicate with them to raise this. Xbox Support used to be able to view Enforcement actions, but they no longer can. Nor do they have ways to reach out to them - from what I have been told.

It may be relevant, it may not.

As regards my sarcasm, I am past caring tbh. It seems to me that the whole ‘enforcement/no one has any means of contacting them’ is clearly designed that way so that no one can complain and force their hands to actually show any proof that their decision is correct/that they have all the facts. I understand and appreciate what you say but i am 53 years old and learnt what you state many years ago but this has my blood absolutely boiling! Even 4/5 days after it started. If they can not be polite enough to do the right thing and just show me the errors i made then how the hell can i make sure it doesn’t happen again. And again i hope they read this so that someone can actually think about it and realise this has to change.

Rant over (for now anyway lol) and thank you again for your help and support. You has been a million times more helpful than they have 👍🏻

Hi bud. Thank you for the link. Having read it all (and its a lot lol) it appears his son was not in his family group (and neither are mine) yet his son caused the issue and he got the ban! Just shows how badly Microsofts system is in handling these situations.

They said they have removed my “apparent” violating screenshots so i cant even find out if it was one of mine or one of my kids that seemingly took them!

EXTREMELY annoying and totally unacceptable!!!

They need to sort their muck out and sort it out now.
