Unwarranted account and gamer tag created, can it be deleted and create another account/gamer ...

We bought our XBOX One a week ago and before I could go on and set up account and gamer tag my 12 year old created on 2 days ago and used a 7 day Live gold code.

It was unwarranted and I wonder if I can delete his account and set up a new account with new gamer tag along with using my 12 month LIVE gold card.

I know you can change a gamer tag at cost but I do not want to do this.

So, how many of you are 10 year Xbox Live gamers?

I started with the xboxlive beta with the headset and MotoGP disk, but I currently have a new different gamer tag due to my associated Hotmail account going inactive, due to not logging into email, and thus preventing me from renewing the live account. I had to create a new account while I went through the steps of recovery for the Hotmail address. Once recovered, I simply stayed with my new gamer tag... Now associated with the old Hotmail account. :-(

 

Netflix and Amazon Prime, one account 2 xbox. Help

Up to you I guess. It makes a stab at creating you a new gamer tag based on your details. My daughter just got a random name she never uses on my Xbox though it was her own email account.

Update - out of interest I tried just logging out of live. Netflix still works fine. So looks like you don't need anything apart from when you first set up the console you are forced to create an account.

 

You can try this:
support.xbox.com/.../remove-profile-from-console. Then set up the account you want using your 12 month code.

 

Thanks. I was just worried that I would be charged the $9.99 to created another user name once I delete my son. He does have the free 7 day Gold so I am going to let him finish that up before I give him the boot LOL

 

I would not suggest using the gamertag you used to post here. It may violate the COC and TOU and you may be forced to change it.

 

Do not create a Gamertag, profile content, Avatar content, in-game content, videos, or any other content that other users may be offended by. This includes, without limitation, anything related to or suggestive of:

Profane words or phrases

Topics or content of a sexual nature

Hate speech

Illegal drugs or controlled substances

Illegal activities

Controversial religious topics

Notorious people or organizations

Sensitive current or historical events

Any “sound-alike” or “lookalike” words, phrases, or puns that reference these topics

It might just fit in there somewhere between the notorious people and sensitive current or historical events. Not sure, but maybe.

 

So how do I call Xbox to have them change this violation? Thus us my sons gamer tag that I asking about above

 

It might not violate the COC, I am just not certain. You can register another account still, just keep it rated E for everyone. To use your sons account, just put the 12 month code in using his account. The problem here is that if somebody files a complaint
against your tag, and the PET,(Policy Enforcement Team), determine that it is offensive, you will receive a forced name change which results in a random name being given to you. To then change the name to something you want, you would have to pay the fee to
change it. If you can handle using your sons gamertag, you only need to add the 12 month code to his account. If you would still prefer to have a different tag, follow that link I posted, create a new tag, and then add the 12 month code to it.

 

Just called and got it changed. They charge me then refunded it

The new gamer tag is "ChickenSkinLuvr"
