Unwanted Spam Messages

ever scince I got an Xbox one, and downloaded world of tanks to play it regularly, I have been receiving messages from generic Xbox accounts spamming me with "blah blah blah blah for a 48 hour code, see 48hour codes. Com"

I am getting really tired of these spam accounts, and have been reporting them as they come but they just never stop.

for this reason and others, is it possible to make your account only contactable by friends ( like on Facebook or something)

if if we could make it so only friends could message us that would be ideal and also solve this problem immediately.

Also these new games having $70 season passes in Australia is a down right joke of a rip off. I swear I'm never buying a game that asks me to pay full retail game price for a season pass.

Unwanted Messages

You do not need to "keep it". Simply File a Complaint/ Block Communications and move on. The Message (or Messages) are "forwarded" when you File a Complaint. That is what the Complaint System does, it "forwards" directly from
your Xbox LIVE Profile to the Xbox LIVE Policy Enforcement Team.

Honestly, having your account set to only be contacted by friends really would not work as anybody can just add you as a friend to send the messages. This happens to me. I understand it is annoying, but your best bet is to keep reporting the accounts that
send the messages. You could set your account to appear offline for awhile to see if they get bored and go away.

Yeah I've tried appearing offline for a whole week and still had the issue of the spam messages.

It's like they've got a computer set to auto find accounts and message them?

Hopefully m'soft can make it so you can specify if you only get messages from favourite friends, I'd much prefer to favourite my whole list so they can contact me and randoms and spammers can't message me.

Who knows what the future will bring, we just have to wait and see I suppose.

Report them as spam, that what I do. They are also testing some unwanted messages for the messaging system. I have this function. For testing and make sure I flag everyone of them. Hopefully they will get enough info to be able to create a spam filter
through these tests soon. Since the holidays are fast approaching I have noticed an uptick in these messages myself. Which I was hoping for that way I can keep flagging them. Xbox is trying to work a solution.
