Unwanted Name Change made by Microsoft

I was playing on my account last night and everything was fine. I sign into my account today and was Told "Cannot signin on this console please re download account and try again" SO i did and only to Discover my account name has been changed. The original
name was XBL Mods Staff which meant Xiled Battle League for my clan on xbox. The mods part is for if someone is cheating in the clan they report it to that gamertag and person will be kicked out of clan if proof is there fof siad person cheating. So apparently
my name was reported by people of box live and was forced changed by microsoft from XBL Mods Staff to DaontFoal75817. Now I understand if Im not allowed to change my name back but I Should at least get a free name change from this weird name I would never
choose. It be much appreciated.

Are you sure you didn't accidentally create a new account instead of changing the email associated with it? Try logging in with your old email address and see if it works.

The new policy when receiving a Forced Name Change, is that you have to pay the fee to change it to something you would like. If you have any other questions regarding the name change feel free to make a post here

I`ve got to agree with x24hrs2livex There is no way to request a forced name change. The enforcement team will only investigate your account if someone has filed a complaint on your account and they will only give a forced change if your
gamertag violates the code of conduct. Even if they did issue a forced change, they would give you a randomly generated tag.

You would not be able to choose your new tag without paying.

Now i`d like you to think about this if You're not willing to pay the necessary money to change your Gamer-Tag. You Could Sign Up On Xbox Live Rewards. When
you've racked up enough Rewards Credits they'll be converted into your country's local currency and deposited into your Microsoft account. Then You can purchase a new Gamer-tag from the local

The gamertag implies you are a member of Microsoft staff,which is against the code of conduct.That why it was changed.

 

i have just had a gamer tag forced on me that i dont want and that i personally feel is offence why should i be given a gamer tag i feel is offence and have to pay to have it changed when the reason it was changed is because someone was offended why have
i no be given a free gamer tag change why am i being forced to pay for a new one!

There's nothing offensive about your gamertag. Your old tag wasn't changed because "someone was offended." It was changed because someone reported it, it was reviewed by the Enforcement Team, and they determined it was in violation of the Code of Conduct.
Why would they reward you with a free name change when you broke the rules? And when you'd likely just choose something offensive again. I imagine the move away from free changes to making people pay is a way to make them think twice before choosing another
tag that'll break the rules.

 

lol i just seen this an the whole reason i came was because i was not granted the free name change it forced this stupid name on me an wanted me to pay £6.79 it did not give me the 1 time free name change so because someone dislikes or reports my name someone
can change it lol i like bacon to but cant have it on my subway

you were given a free name change hence the SlickCub4430951 tag cause the old one was offensive. if you want to make it to what you want to be THAT will cost you. and FYI since MS is a private institution you do NOT have freedom of speech here.

 

You do have free speech as long as your gamertag does not break the code of conduct that you agreed to when you started your account

Yours was racist & therefore was against the CoC & was changed to a non offensive tag for free.

You only get a free name change of your choosing when you start your account,which you used,so if you want to change it again you will have to pay.

 

Sorry but LOL at you trying to defend your old tag. Its obvious you had other intentions with a tag like XBL Mod Staff. Trying to play it off like its some tag you pay extra all year for JUST to report others to is a joke that no one will believe. You had
bad intentions with that tag and now you (literally) have to pay for it. I love when people with bad intentions have bad things happen to them. Its VERY humorous watching how mad you people get. Imagine how the people feel when you use that account to steal

Again just to clarify... Your "XBL Mod Staff" account is not used pretend to be xbl staff, but "Xiled Battle League account aht you report modders to" LMFAO yea I'm sure they will believe you...

Had my account 6 years with the same name . now all of a sudden changed without Microsoft asking me . to some [Mod Removed] name . then tell me I have to pay to change it . Microsoft you are joke .

 

Microsoft don't need to ask you when they issue a forced name change.You agreed to the terms & conditions when you started your account,part of which says they can change your gamertag if it's against the code of conduct at any time.

Doesn't matter how long you had the gamertag,it was only now just been reported,investigated & deemed against the Coc.

 

that's why Microsoft can go stick there xbox account up there hole . ps4 all the way from now on
