unusual Xbox support redirect after signing in

I contacted Microsoft Store Support, who redirected me to Xbox Support, who redirected me to here, after lengthy chats with each.

Regarding your issue, you will need first to sign in to your Microsoft account and make sure that your account is not under 18. If the account is an adult, you will need to check your Microsoft family to see if you are added there as a child. If you are added to a Microsoft family as a child you will need to be removed from the family by the parent account.

After your account is removed, then you will be able to change the settings yourself.

You could also, try changing browsers and devices to see if that will resolve your issue.

Go to xbox support contact us from your XB1 edge browser. Sign into your account. Select the options to be directed to the correct support team. You will be redirected to a bot message, click 'no. This was not helpful'. You will be redirected to a gamer
who can offer advice. Kindly ask to be redirected to offical xb1 support team. The chat session will terminate. Scroll to the bottom of the chat and click the link for official support. Ask the support team to make the purchase for you.

Been talked about before. Someone else owned the rights to the site and made it redirect. Funny, but nothing really unusual, like that article is stating. To answer the article's question, though; because Activision already has a MW3 site. Done and done.
I do enjoy seeing the redirect, though. Pretty amusing, as you stated.
