Unusual promotional messages

I've noticed that every once and a while I get promotional xbox live messages for free things. These messages are also sent from random people and I know it's not microsoft.This happens rarely but can someone explain to me why I get these. They're very annoying.

I've been getting them for pizza stuff that I don't even care about. The best thing I can say is just block them and report them, and move on.

Hey guys - yeah, from what I've learned, this is a problem that is known by the engineers and is being worked on to find the solution. As of right now, you need to report EVERY profile from whom you get Spam messages.

You will need to choose "report" and then for the reason, for now all you can pick is Voice Communication, because right now, Text Spam is not a choice. Just make sure after you choose Voice, you add to the description specifying "text message Solicitation
- SPAM."

I currently have a feedback post and a message to one of the engineers asking to have Spam Messages added to the list of reporting reasons. For now, though, this should be enough to get the info to the devs that they need!

Also, yes, definitely BLOCK after submitting the report. It won't prevent other spammers from sending duplicate messages, but it will at least prevent junk from the same person.

got to admit, I dont understand the "need humanity" messages. There are a lot of them in the most unusual places where you wouldn't need to be in human form. Is there a point to these messages I am missing?
