Unusable

i bought my xbox one in january moving up from my 360 which now regret trading in, because what i have instead is a useless broken piece of. The list of problems is too long for me to name them all. Stop addin new features and fix the damn thing, i cant
even turn my xbox off without having to pull the power cable out the back it just stays on and just turning kinect off and on. These problems have got alot worse since i tried to use twitch broadcasting as soon as i try the console will do nothing until i
reboot it, wont load games, cant sign out/in , cant even open settings. I am well and truly *** off, was so happy when i got the thing home to only realised that i might as well have bought a mega drive at least that can play games.

Ahhh I see now why it wouldn't let me switch my payment option to my debit card. I apparently owe 19.98 but I've only got about fifteen dollars on my card. Just a quick question if you might have an answer, why doesn't Microsoft check the credit card BEFORE
giving out the gold membership? Just asking, because then I wouldn't have to go refill my card just to talk to my friends.

And now the only question is, how can I get rid of this parent account stuff?

 

Absolutely unusable

So. Today, the home button on my remote stopped working and the on screen Keyboard will pull up but i can't use it, no matter what i do, it just stays on Y. Smartglass is a nice workaround for the second half of this problem. Unfortunately, the fact that
i have to restart the console to get back to home aggravates me. Anyone have any fixes to either of these problems? Or do i just have to wait it out?

 

I think Twitch may be the reason your console is no longer fully powering down. I had the same issue.

Do the following:

• Go to My Games & Apps, go down to Apps and find Twitch.
• Highlight it and press Menu (button with three lines) and choose Manage App.
• On the right-hand side you should now see your profile name.
• Highlight that and again press Menu and select Delete Saved Data.
• Now uninstall the Twitch app (from where you deleted saved data, move left and click A on the big tile and confirm).
  
• You will now want to power cycle* the console completely, which should solve some of your other lingering issues.
  

This should stop the behaviour where the console is prevented from shutting down.

This should at least make your experience of the new console a little better.
