Unresponsive d-pad on Elite Controller; How do I go about getting a replacement?

The responsiveness of the d-pad on the Elite controller that came with the system leaves a lot to be desired. I play a lot of old-school games, and I cannot ignore this any longer. The right direction is the most unresponsive. I wish to receive a replacement.
I tried finding an e-mail to contact, but it was too difficult. I did, however, find Jimmy Hoffa.

New Xbox one Controller D pad issues

I just bought the covert forces controller and I'm experiencing the same issue. The d pad is unresponsive. I'm currently in possession of the controller and retail packaging, and it's still unresponsive.

 

Quality Controller

The pads, analog sticks and just about every other controller part is easily replaced with components you can readily (and cheaply) find online. I've never had a controller fail on me, but that's not to say they don't leave a lot to be desired. They're often
unresponsive & the d-pads are a joke. For as ergonomically incorrect as the Playstation controller is, it functions flawlessly.

If you have not already done so please carry out a hard reset on the console and check to see if software update is available for the controller.

After you have done this try going into the Xbox Accessories app and check that no one has changed the mapping profile of the console just in case this is affecting the D pad.
