Unreadable disc

monkeydale32: please start your own thread. this is a totally separate issue. he's using a disc and you are using a digital game.

CaseBeret: did you try installing this disc to the hard drive? if not, i recommend doing that. let us know if the installation fails. if it does i would try at least 3 times. see if it fails at the same place. one nice thing about having the games
installed to the hard drive: if you install the disc when it's in good condition, then the disc ends up damaged, the xbox 360 usually won't care as long as it can read the main "header" to see that it is indeed that particular game.

example: i used to play Destiny and PvZ Garden Warfare with my girlfriend. i had a copy of each that would not play or install. but once i used the good copy of each to install, i could use the bad copies to play from, as long as i didn't uninstall it.

if you are able to install the game to 100% and then it still gives "unreadable disc" then that would lead me to believe it's not actually anything related to the disc or the dvd drive at all, but probably some software issue or perhaps your hard drive is
failing? hard to say without further testing.

 

QuickMythril, its on my hard drive. I have 5 different tabs that are labeled all labeled Saved Game. Two are under a 2nd profile I created today, which proved ineffective. The full game file size is 2MB, which is significantly less than other games I have
listed on the hard drive. I've not wanted to delete the game, fearing that I'd loose my records/rankings/achievements. At this point I'll do anything?

 

not sure i understand what you mean when you say it's on your hard drive. if all the files are Saved Games then you don't have the disc installed to the hard drive.

just in case there's a miscommunication, i'll go into more detail. from the main dashboard, you'll be on the tile that says "Play TW PGA TOUR 13". at the bottom it says "X: Game Details". press X and you'll see a tile that says "Install". that's what
you want to click to install the disc. it should take 4.8 GB of space. that's what i'm referring to where you want to see if it goes all the way to 100%.

when you are looking at all the files on your storage device, under Tiger Woods PGA 13, you should now see one that says "Installed Xbox 360 Game" 4.8 GB. no need to delete the ones that say Saved Game, or you may lose your progress.

also the tile that says Install, will now say Delete. just a note that if you press Delete from the Game Details page, it will only remove the Installed Xbox 360 Game, and not the Saved Games.

I've not know to do that and I appreciated the step by step instructions and visual reference. It did load 100% and I verified it's 4.8 file size. Had a lot of enthusiasm, till play was halted, unreadable! Randomly placed, but approximately 10-15 minutes
