Unplugged Xbox One X while in Instant On mode--risk of damage?

Without thinking about it, I unplugged my Xbox One X while it was in instant on mode. I could hear the HDD spin down when I did it, then I remembered it was in Instant On mode. After powering it back up and playing a game and watching Netflix the console
seems fine, but could unplugging it like that still have caused damage? Thanks.

Yeah i agree i think you be ok i dont "full shutdown" my xbox one x and its step up like that and i unplug it to move it when i plan to travel with it but also just if you unplugged it to move better to make sure you have any disc in there either

That is really no different than having a power failure while in the instant on mode. It is extremely rare for that to actually cause any real issues.

Its a good idea to power down properly but no it should not cause damage.

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. If everything is working fine right now, then I wouldn't worry too much about it. There could be issues if, for example, you had a game launched. The game could have not saved, or if this happened while the
game was saving it could have been corrupted.

All in all, I think you are fine. Just make sure its not an everyday thing and you'll be fine.

Unplugging it while in instant on mode won't harm the console. However, if you are planning on unplugging it on a regular basis there is no reason to put it in instant on mode as that would effectively defeat the purpose of putting it in instant on mode.
Unplugging it would have no different effect than a power failure while in instant on mode.
