Unplug and re-plug in my usb dongle for wireless headset on Xbox One X

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. I'd be happy to help troubleshoot the issue,

First, remove the dongle from the console. Then you need to

power cycle the Xbox. Hold down the power button on the console until it shuts down and then remove the power cord from the console and the power outlet. Leave the console unplugged for 5 minutes and then try again.

If the issue continues try out a
soft factory reset, where you reset and keep games and apps installed. Accounts on the console will be removed and you will need to re-connect to your network during the setup. Make sure you have your account's login information so you can sign
back in during the set-up.

Try those two steps out first and let us know the results!

Totally solved my problem! Held button until it powered off. Then unplugged Power. Powered up xbox to discharge power. Waited a while then reconnected power. Plugged in dongle. Turned on. Worked. Tried power cycling a few times and no issues .

My son had this problem. His wireless headset did not connect directly to the Xbox, he needed to plug in a littl USB dongle that came with the headset into the xbox for it to work. Make sure you don't need one of these USB dongles for it to work and if
it does, maybe try a different USB port on the xbox.
