Unlink Child Account to add to new Family Account

Hello,

Having a really difficult time with this. Setup Parental controls on my kids xbox/xbox live account years ago. I still have access to my Hotmail account I linked it to, and can still access the parental controls, but want to link it now to a new Family Account
that I'm now managing all Windows 10 access for our entire family.

I've already unlinked his Microsoft Account that is tied to his Xbox account, but it seems to have left behind the Xbox parental controls to my old Hotmail account.

I was chatting with Support for a considerable amount of time last night, and it seems I could not get anywhere explaining my issue without being provided the same articles I've been trying to follow with no luck for days now. I have full access to all accounts.
It used to be where you'd sign on with the Kids account on live.xbox.com and go to change settings, and then provide your Parent account login and control away. I am still able to get to that point, but can't find a way to add a new parent, or remove my parent
account and reassociate it.

Under Microsoft Account "Family" page, I removed the child, and invited & added him to my new Family management account, but the xbox live remained attached to my old Hotmail account.

Can anyone offer any advice???

Parental WLID

If you go to the family center (dashboard, not guide), you should be able to see the child account. Select and remove from family. That will require you to add a new parental account to the child account.

Create a new parent account and add the child account to it by signing in with the new parental account at account.microsoft.com/family

So you are trying to have your account switched to a different email? If so you cannot change your primary email. Though you can add accounts to your account and make them primary. Yes that sounded confusing so ill say this... the email you used will always
be linked to your account as number one primary, but you can add another to be second primary... just sign into your live account on microsoft.com and manage account, there you will see "emails associated with this account"

Thanks for the additional information. For the transfer unfortunately, no you would be unable to transfer that data from one account to another.

As for the unlink it is possible to unlink from family. Only thing is you would need another parent account to link it to. Here are a couple links that will give you additional information.

If you are unable to remove the child from the current family you can request a call back and a support agent will be able to assist you with removing the child from the family. Once the account is removed from the family, you will create yourself
an account, (if you have a Microsoft account will make it easier). You will sign in and follow the guide posted in number 2.

you need to create a new account. then add you old account to a family as a child then change the setting.
