    Unknown issue w first gen xbox one


    My controller will become totally unresponsive after about 5 minutes of working right. The xbox light on the controller stays on but none of the buttons do anything. Ive tested it with 3 controllers so im fairly sure it has to do with the console. Now when
    i hold down the xbox button and do a hard reset and power it back on, i press the sync button on the console, the light will blink and i am able to connect the controller. The controller works for five minutes and becomes unresponsive. The weird thing to me
    is that when the controller becomes unresponsive, the sync button on the xbox will also do nothing. I think my console is done for but it works fine except for this new issue ik having.

    I agree MsCrackerJax however perhaps take it even further than a hard reset. Maybe instead try doing a factory reset of the entire console. You will have to reinstall your games but this will give everything a fresh start and even allow a re-update of your
    controllers.

    I would try a complete hard reset, power it down and unplug it. Make sure the light goes orange then off. While it is off I would use a can of air on it to dust it off. Sometimes we won't see them, but bugs can get into our systems, I don't recommend
    taking the system apart, forced air might help get them out. Making sure it is in a space with enough airflow, start the process again.

    If all else fails, I would do a complete system reset.
