Unique Xbox One Controller Connectivity Issue - Please help!

Over the last few months, I have been having an issue with controller connectivity that I have not been able to find any answer to, whether on here or on YouTube.

I could be playing for 2 minutes, 2 hours, or 2 days, and the controller just stops working. How, you ask? The white light on the controller goes a little brighter than usual, doesn’t tell me it’s disconnected, and no matter how many times I take the batteries
out and put them back in, or try and reconnect using the button on top of the controller and the button at the side of the console, I have to hard reset the xbox, unplug, and restart again.

Again, I get no notification telling me “your controller has been disconnected”. It can happen at any time, or not happen at all for a while. This evening, it’s been happening every time I turn the xbox on and off, including when I use a wired controller,
it’s the same connectivity issue.

I have tried everything suggested and am at my wits end, and I’m starting to think it may be a console issue, not a controller issue. It’s at least 6 years old so maybe it’s starting to think about retiring on me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
