    UNIQUE Issue with Games updating with Instant On


    I have a unique issue that I can't find anywhere on google so I am asking it here.

    I cannot use Instant on and auto update for my console. When a game requires an update (let's say 200mb), my console will download the WHOLE GAME.

    eg. Titan fall needed a 120mb update. When on instant on auto update, the game updated a full 30gig (or however big it is). I noticed this at the end of a weekend that 30gig had gone to this update (instead of 120mb).

    I have tested with other games, including tonight. Updated Trials Fusion and the whole 8gig re downloaded. BF4 also tried to do a full 40gig update the other day. This has happened to most games, disc or digital.

    BUT Fifa 15 updated (uses disc) tonight and it was only 200mb. So I am stumped.

    Does anyone else have this issue and why is it happening? Would love to have instant on and auto update but this issue is stopping this.

    (side note, when on energy saver and I launch a game it only downloads the update, not the full game)

    INSTANT ON ISSUE WITH XBOX ONE S

    Instant-on is susceptible to strange system behavior after a few days to a couple weeks.
    I suggest you do a complete power cycle.



    It happens to me after about a week or two, usually. I've set my console to Instant-On, and I do a power cycle once my Xbox starts showing signs of little things not working correctly.

    Console is off/standby but is saturating my upload

    It is not turning all the way off, the xbox one has a unique power mode that is called "instant on" in power & startup in options. It continues to use internet to download updates and be ready for a 2 second start. You can change this in settings and change
    it to "energy saving", and that completely turns it off. If your games ever stop working follow this instruction.

    As Mister Cizl advised, Nichbeard will need to contact support in order to sort out his issue surrounding his attempted Xbox Live Gamertag change. His situation is slightly unique as

    changing your Xbox Live Gamertag     is typically an instant process and it will update right away if the process works as intended.

    Hopefully that clarifies a bit more. :)
