uninstalling or removing xbox bar from my laptop

The Xbox Game Bar is embedded in the OS, meaning it cannot be uninstalled. The two Xbox Apps (Xbox & Xbox Console Companion) can be uninstalled if you have them on your laptop.

To answer your inquiry, You can uninstall apps and programs from your Windows laptop by typing "Programs" into the start search bar on the bottom left of your screen (The task bar) and then select "Add or Remove Programs". From there, you will see a list of
programs installed on your laptop. Scroll to the bottom as they are alphabetically ordered and click the "Xbox Companion App" then click "uninstall". Follow the on screen prompts to remove or disable the app.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled both the companion app and Xbox app from my laptop. I have also run windows troubleshoot to no avail. I also reset the data for game bar, with no results there either.

I have an older and very bad laptop where I don't have any issue with the Xbox Game bar.
This laptop is the Lenovo Legion Y520. It was for my brother and I was using it to play games, I haven't this issue. But now we added my account on it and removed a lot of his stuff and recording with Xbox Game bar isn't working anymore.

By the way, is this the first time you use the game bar?

Or the issue started happening recently?

If it's the second, do you know if your windows system received an update?

Your Huawei matebook laptop has both dedicated and integrated GPU?

In the meantime try reinstalling game bar:

Right-click on the Start button and select Windows PowerShell (Admin) from the pop-up menu.

Copy and paste the following command in PowerShell and hit Enter to uninstall the Game Bar from your system.

Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay | Remove-AppxPackage

Restart your PC and now head over to Microsoft Store and search for Xbox Game Bar and try testing again
