Uninstalled games reappear as if still installed

Since you've seen this problem and you've uninstalled it, you should try reinstalling it to see whether it reappears.

No, ive let it fully install a few times and still does it. But if I uninstall the patch, basically install the game again offline, the issues go away. Then they reappear if I let it update. So it has to be related to the update. Ive contacted Ubisoft, just
waiting for some answers. because every launch title I have im not happy with. same issue or other. its not fair when you spend all this money.

I noticed the Elite controller shows up in my Device Manager Bluetooth. I uninstall the device and it disappears, but reappears if I "scan for hardware changes." It's like there is some permanent bad device installed.

When you go to the Microsoft Store app and look at the uninstalled games, do the products say install or do they say play? Are you uninstalling from the Xbox App, the apps menu on the settings app? Could you describe the steps you took in the beginning on uninstalling? Do you have multiple accounts logged into the Microsoft Store app or the Xbox App?

hello I managed to uninstall them.

First of all on your questions, in the store after uninstall, they didn't show up. They didn't show in the xbox app, or anywhere in the system at all. But they files remained in the folder. After a couple of days the system detect the files and show them again as installed.

I first uninstalled through the add/remove programs. It showed it removed them, but files still there and apps reappeared.

Then I went to the app settings where you can, terminate, reset, uninstall the app and uninstalled from there too. It showed it removed them, but files still there and apps reappeared.

Then I tried to mess with the file permissions in an effort to delete them manually. As always windows permissions are **** and while I was own AND administrator the system kept saying should give permission to ... whatever...

And then I though to try uninstalling through the first account we made when installing windows for the first time. That is, my wife's user account that is connected to another microsoft account and have nothing to do with my account in any way. That means once you log in that account xbox is not even logged in to the active gamepass account.

But somehow, even with me having changed the folder's owners and permissions, from this account I was able to delete those 2 games for good and since then they haven't showed up again.

Honestly I do believe windows somehow screwed up the file permissions and because of that they didn't let me remove them from my account. I can't explain it in any other way.

Doing a bit of research, I've come across a possible solution.

Go to Start Menu > Settings > System > Storage > Temporary Files

See if Delivery Optimization Files has the missing GB, if it does, you can check it and click Remove Files.

If you see a folder in WindowsApp with the name of an uninstalled game, and this folder still has the game files in it, you can reinstall this game, the download will go to 100% immediately and then you can cleanly uninstall this game again. The files should be deleted.

The MSIXVC folder is used for peer to peer delivery optimization. It keeps a copy of every game, but due to the weird name of the files we can't really know which game it is. Generally the file is as big as the installation folder though. These files are locked if the game is installed, but once it's uninstalled, you can delete the files manually.

You can also check the disable delivery optimization with the gpedit execute command ( Start > Search gpedit, > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Delivery optimization. Double click on Download mode, click enable and put it to Simple (99) the next game downloaded shouldn't appear in this folder.
