Uninstall XBox button on Windows 10 does not work. And I want to get rid of it.

Xbox is part of the core services on Windows 10 and the uninstall button does not work. It's not recommended to attempt to remove it.

What did you try to uninstall? Have you tried more than one way to uninstall this?

Hi, if you mean you want to uninstall the Xbox app from windows 10 it can be done but it does require a little effort.

Firstly you need to open powershell, right click on the Start button and select Run, type powershell and hit enter.

Once powershell is open and you see the command prompt with a flashing cursor enter the following line of text and hit enter

Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage

Wait while the app is removed which may take maybe 30 seconds or so and you're done. Be aware that any Windows update may at some point reinstall whichever app you have uninstalled.

Should you at any time wish to reinstall the default apps you remove then open powershell again and enter the following text and hit enter, this may take a little while so be patient.

Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

I should point out that messing around with powershell can cause issues if you mess things up so with that I will only say that you do this at your own risk, I take no blame if your PC turn into a PS4 or a ham sandwich or anything else happens for that matter.
Having said that I removed the Xbox app myself and haven't turned into a hound of satan just yet so :/

Unfortunately, there is no direct option to remove it. It's basically the same as Calculator, Notepad, or all the other hundreds of things that are just built into the operating system with no options to remove.

But just because there's no one-click option, doesn't mean you can't just delete it yourself if you want. Lifehacker has an easy explanation of how to do it:
