uninstall xbox 360 adapter

it says I am connected to the internet when I run the connection test but shows no internet when I load internet explorer, I have tried everything I can think of and don't know what else to do

skp683, they do sell the wireless adapter as a standalone USB adapter that you plug into your Xbox 360.

Are you able to test the wireless adapter using a different PC?
This can tell us if it's definitely an issue with the adapter itself

If not, may I know if you tried uninstalling wireless adapter driver?

Windows + X, select Device Manager, expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers, and right-click Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 device.
Finally select uninstall or delete, restart your PC and give it a new try
