Unformatted Hard Drive option

Okay so I recently just purchased an Xbox 360 slim console on craigslist and the console seems to have a problem updating the system software. After it finished connecting to XBL, it proceeds to download the update but it does not complete. For my
hard drive options, I have 2 options which are my 250GB hard drive and a new option I have never seen before called "Unformatted". I think its the internal 4gb inside the motherboard, and im not entirely sure if that is the component I need to replace
to fix this. Also, whenever i play shooters and my controller vibrates, it disconnects. Please help me, it will be very greatly appreciated. An xbox off craigslist for 45$ is definitely a bargain.

Format Hard Drive

I'm having issues formatting my hard drive for the xbox 360S. Hard drive keeps showing up "unformatted" so I format the hard drive and nothing happens, Xbox keeps saying that it is unformatted. Any solutions to this problem??

 

My Hard-Drive is "Unformatted?"

I'm afraid that the reason it was so cheap was most likely because of the issues you are having... It sounds like the previous owner modified the console, correct?

 

Im not sure, but cant I just open the console and remove the damaged internal drive so the sus update saves to my HDD or a seperate USB flash drive?

 

if there are 2 Options, one of them is your hdd and there is NO usb attached, it most likely is the internal 4gb.

you console might be out of warranty already, but opening it by yourself might be detected as a Manipulation and removing Access to live completly, you shouldnt do it.
