I have an additional Xbox 360 Slim HDD (500 GB), it was working fine and now it shows up Unformatted. I wasn't worried about the saved data so I chose the option to format it. After formatting it, it comes up and tells me how much is available like everything
is working fine. Came back to my Xbox again today and it says unformatted again. I don't know what to do, or if there is anything I can do. Please help, and thanks in advance!

Xbox says I have "Live Free" even though I bought gold.

i don't think it shows it on the subscriptions, but it does show on purchase history.

the connection test didn't work..

Sorry to hear it. Please click the link below and log in with your gamertag info. If you have a gold membership on your account it will show it there.

If it is listed then please try heading to Settings>System>Network and run a connection test. This will log your tag out and should show as Gold when you log back in.

If it does not work or the link above does not show you as having Gold on your account then you'll need to call phone support for further assistance. You can click the link below to get the number for your region.

I am having the same issue. MY Console acts as if my Hard Drive is unformatted even though it was working fine 12-13-2011 until 11:30 PM Central time.

I'm afraid problems with the 4GB internal memory showing up as "unformatted" usually require a console repair. Even though it's no longer displaying "unformatted," the fact that you can't read from or write to it or format it properly most likely means there's
a problem with the internal memory.
