    Unformatted Drive


    Last night my X-Box 360 was working great. Booted it up this morning and received message that I had to download an available update in order to activate the functions of the console. Clicking the Update Tab, produced a message that there was not enough
    space on the internal drive to accomodate the mandatory update. I knew right away that there was something screwed up because the dive has plenty of room on it to download the update. Went into Storage and it showed the drive as being Unformatted. I then went
    into Network Settings and ran the Connection Test. It showed both Network & Internet as being connected. However the X-box Live connection showed as having failed. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

    Xbox 360 Elite Hard Drive error?

    Hi, as the hard drive is showing as unformatted there's little you can do but try to format it. The hard drive may not format or format but then become unformatted again which would indicate a major problem with the hard drive.

    Hey there Fir! Are you saying that your hard drive is unformatted? When you go to System, then Storage does your Hard Drive read as unformatted? I'm trying to make sure I understand the situation.

    What exactly happened with your drive? If there isn't any data on the drive then you will not be able to transfer the data cause there isn't anything there to transfer.
