    Unfair Enforcement


    I was recently handed a 2 week communications ban on Xbox Live because my buddy was playing a game and sent someone a message because he was mad how he died. I've done this before as most of us have. He plays on Playstation and they don't have these ban
    issues. Obviously I was not happy when he told me he got the ban so I tried to contact Xbox Enforcement. I have done this whole thing before and was livid with the fact that I have to do it again. Let me tell you why.

    First Issue: They force you to take a quiz before you can even file for an appeal.

    Second Issue: You have to get a perfect score on the quiz to continue to the appeal (get one wrong, start over).

    Third Issue: You only get 3 tries to get a perfect score.

    Fourth Issue: The questions are incredibly vague and subjective. Ex: "It's ok to identify my relationship orientation in my Gamertag or profile." True or False. You may google this because the average player has no idea of the answer. I did and I found an
    article discussing a woman who got banned for doing that very thing. So I answered the question False. That was the wrong answer... Why? I don't know.

    Fifth Issue: After you inevitably waste all your attempts, you have to wait 24 hours to try again.

    Sixth Issue: The ban was almost immediate and didn't give any reason (not a huge problem for me but is for others I've noticed)

    I'm not here to critique Xbox Enforcement for the reason behind it's suspensions and bans but why is it so hard to even fill out an appeal? These roadblocks you put in people's way likely have a reason for being there, but end up punishing people who didn't
    do anything wrong. I contacted Xbox Support, which the Enforcement page says not to do. They said they can't influence Enforcement in any way and said the only other thing I could do is make a forum post because you cannot contact Xbox Enforcement in any other
    way. Here I am angrily typing this forum post as I have now failed the quiz 6 times and haven't been able to speak to or hear my friends online for 2 days. I pay for Xbox services and the hoops I have to jump through to get what I pay for returned to me is
    simply ridiculous. This is without a doubt one of the most aggravating things I've ever experienced on Xbox and I've played CoD for a long time. I'm writing this to bring attention to this because I know a lot of other people have these same issues. So I implore
    Xbox to revisit the way they approach the appeal process because this is simply unnecessary.

    If you believe you have been unfairly banned, You can submit a case review if your ban is longer than 24 hours, however there is no guarantee that you will be un-banned. This page has all the details on what a case review is and how to submit one:

    http://enforcement.xbox.com for any information and possible options.

    I would also advise if something happens again to just Report and block the user, do not engage by sending a message back, since if the response also violates the Terms of Use or Code of Conduct then you can get struck by enforcement too.
