Unfair Banning Policies

I just got a communication ban. I play GTA which is a rated R game which includes vulgar profanity and nudity. I admit I do my share of trash talking but I rate my trash talk PG13. i.e. i use the P@!*$ word and it refers to a female body part. I feel
when playing GTA that has rated R content it's UNFAIR to ban a player when in character is acting accordingly to the game's theme. Everyone who plays GTA is knowingly and willingly subjecting themselves to profanity automatically. It's written right on the
cover of the game and yet the game does not violate the code of conduct/CONTENT in the enforcement code.

What are examples of content that is prohibited in Xbox Live?

(Note: the examples below are just a few examples of Content prohibited by the Microsoft Code of Conduct. Just because something isn’t on this list doesn’t mean it’s OK.)

• Content involving illegality. For example:

  • Controversial religious content
  • Anything involving notorious people or organizations
  • Anything involving sensitive events, current or historical
• Content that is unauthorized. For example:
  • Images and other content you don’t have permission to use
  • Illegitimately obtained videos
• Content that promotes, or sounds or looks like words, phrases, puns, images or imagery that refer to any prohibited content

BUT YET THAT'S ALL GTA IS ABOUT!!!!!!!?????

CODE OF CONTENT category should be treated as a "case by case" or "game by game" method which takes into consideration the Rate of the game being played and or the account category i.e. child account/family account in which who is playing.

I am being banned because I use R rated language that promotes thieving, killing, pronography, nudity, gambling, prostitution, drinking and profanity. How can you honestly get into character when restrictions are limiting and prevent you to act according
to theme.

DOES ANYONE SHARE MY FEELINGS ON THIS SUBJECT AND IF SO WHAT CAN WE DO TO CHANGE THIS ABSURD, TWISTED, UNREALISTIC POLICY that gives No warning! No respect to the player or the game! No consideration to suggestions!

Unfair banning

Yep, don't respond to people who send you messages, just report and block and move on. If you "fight fire with fire" it usually ends up with you getting banned.

I know its wrong, but that's the way it is I'm afraid.

I had a similar situation the other day, playing BF1 I was on a pom pom shooting planes (purely because I'm not great at taking flags, but I can at least help by killing bombers etc) this bloke starts sending me texts saying I'm a noob and have no skill
and I should get off the pom pom and help "the cause".

This same bloke then jumps in front of the pom pom so I cant use it.

I could have responded and mouthed off, but the best thing is block and report.

 

UNFAIR BANNING

It does not matter who starts the conversation if you violate the code of conduct you are subject to an enforcement action.

It is not an automated thing every report is investigated by a person and if there was a violation of the code of conduct then there would be an enforcement action taken against the account.

Even if you do not use profanity depending on what is said it could still be construed as harassment and would be a violation of the code of conduct.

In a situation like this in the future it would be best to report the other player and then block and mute them.

If you feel that you should not have been suspended you can file a case review by signing in at enforcement.xbox.com and filing for a case review there.
