Unexpected games crashing

Hey everyone,

My Xbox One X seems to have problems running most games. Fans sounding like a jet plane, constant crashing to dashboard and games sometime not even loading correctly. A few of the games that have crashed on me multiple times are:

Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Assassins Creed: Origins

Dark Souls 3

The Division

Divinity Enhanced Edition

Pillars of Eternity

Forza Horizon 4

Final Fantasy XV

At first I thought it was just the games themselves crashing but surely all of these games can't all have the same problem? Should I try to get it repaired at Microsoft or would I be better off returning it to the store that I bought it on. I bought it just
over a year ago so I'm sure it wouldn't be covered by warranty.

Also anyone else encountering any of the same problems? I've tried things such as uninstalling and then reinstalling the games and holding the power button for 15 seconds to do a hard reset. Would I format of the entire Xbox be a good place to start?

Hi there,

if those games are installed on an external storage device or the internal one? If it's an external one then you could try and see if there is any difference when the games are installed on the internal storage device to determine if the external storage
device may be causing this.

You could also consider doing a factory reset of the console, to see if that fixes anything. See this link for the steps:

In regards to warranty, this is different per region, you should be able to see the warranty status at:

Update, I have done a factory reset and the problem still persists.

The device does seem to be in warranty so I will go down that option.

Hi WPAK thanks for your reply.

I have been using the internal hard drive.

I have since done a factory reset of the console, hopefully that does fix things but I'll report back later.

I'm giving up on this game until they release a fix. It seems at random the game will crash now. During my quest to get 100% the game crashed on me to the home-screen a few times, so it's not happening just at that dead pilot / gap scene it's happening there
but any unexpected location as well. If they don't fix this then screw it... I'm done with TR DE
