Unexpected charge to my credit card

I noticed this on my online credit card statement today:

I haven't had Live Gold for several years, so I don't know why I've been charged this. When I used the XBOX live online chat support, the agent informed me that he could not even see this payment in relation to my account. I asked him if he could check whether
my card was linked to any other accounts, but he said he couldn't. My concern is that my account has somehow been compromised and I'm now paying for someone else to have a gold membership (my account is still standard 'live').

If I call the helpline when it reopens, is someone in billing likely to be able to check from my card number what account received the item purchased in this transaction?

A mix of Credit Card and online gift cards. The Xbox Live marketplace is weird for me, it charges me tax when using a credit card directly, but doesn't charge me any tax when using my Microsoft account balance. So usually what I tend to do is always makes sure I have something in my account balance so when I use my credit card, it only subtracts what was left over after taking from the account, and this never includes tax.

 

Odd they should be able to see the transaction i believe is it possible for you to contact your bank to get a new card etc ?

 

I'll speak to the bank tomorrow, but this is the only unexpected item on my statement. I would have expected MS to be able to check against card number charged rather than just what my account shows.

If you do call Phone Support, as you suggested, they should be able to help you better as they have access to much more information than we do on the forums.

 

The best thing to do is contact support and speak with a billing agent, they will be able to access your account and check what`s going on, They do investigations for these types of situations, Please reach out to them by visiting

the support for xbox live is brutal. i had a series of charges 11.19 x 19 over the course of two days charged to my credit card. you cannot even remove your credit card information from there site if you have the xbox live as they want to ensure they auto
renew keeps on rolling so they only way is to put in another payment option....well i have cancelled my charge card so they can JAM it when it comes renewal time

 

I also got charged twice for xbox live gold. one thru paypal and the other on my debit card. it shows on my bank account. Now trying to reach someone isn't a easy task. Anyone have a Number I can Call Xbox Live, and Not Microsoft, Because they couldn't help
me and told me to talk to Xbox..grr
