  1. Under 13 child with WP7 and XBox Live account.

I'm trying to allow my daughter to download games and music (I can restrict which games and how much they cost through my phone carrier) and also to accept game invitations on free XBox Live games like AlphaJax. It will not let her download anything that
costs money from the XBox games list, claiming is violates her Family Safety settings.

Can anyone help me figure out the Family Safety settings so I can allow this?

    Thanks!

    XBox Live gamertag

    :)

Error 83118853 re-authorisation impossible as site returns an error

Error 83118853 occurs when you try to sign in to Xbox Live using a child account

You see the following error and message when you try to sign in to Xbox Live using a child account:

Before you can sign in here, you'll need to sign in at Xbox.com.

An adult will also need to sign in so they can give permission.

    Code: 83118853

This means that the parent account must provide permission for each associated child account (under age 13) before the child can access Xbox Live.

Starting today some U.S. child accounts (under 13) will no longer be able to log into their Xbox 360 (in some instances Xbox Music on Windows 8 or 8.1) until a parent verifies the child account on Xbox.com. All new child accounts will be required to verify
that an adult is giving permission to a child to create a new Xbox Live account.

As part of our continued effort to provide the best possible experience for our customers around the world, Microsoft issued a global update. In connection with this update and the recent launch of Xbox One, Microsoft reviewed Xbox Live’s processes for online
account creation and use (including existing accounts) by children (under 13) to ensure ongoing compliance with the recently amended Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). COPPA requires that prior to gathering personal information from a child
(under 13), providers of online services obtain verifiable parental consent from the child’s parent. Microsoft and Xbox Live comply with the COPPA regarding online account creation for children under age 13. The most common method allowed by COPPA for gathering
parental consent is charging a small amount to the parent’s credit card. We charge 50 cents for this verification. These charges aren’t refundable

    error code 83118853

    Greetings iCrazySmurf!

Could you verify if you, with your parent account, provided permission for your son's associated child account (under age 13)? You must sign in with your parent account and give permission for your son's child account before he's able to sign in to Xbox
    Live.

    Please read:
    Error code 83118853
And confirm if you've already worked through these steps.

    Thank you!

G'day Jenn! Thanks for posting in the forums.

In order to allow your daughter to buy & download apps and Xbox games on her phone, you'll need to set up My Family at
windowsphone.com. Your daughter will also have to accept the Xbox Terms of Use by logging into her account at
    xbox.com.

There's a full rundown of steps and advice on the process here. It sounds like a lot, but it goes pretty quick. Let us
know the outcome and if you have any other questions!

  5. Thank you so much. We figured out how to get her able to download XBox Live games onto her phone (for me the XBox controls are a lot easier than the web site) but I still could not get my alphajax to even admit she existed. This should help with that.

Problem converting Xbox 360 local profile to Xbox Live as a child's account

Irixion - Thanks for the quick response. Major bummer and mistake on Microsoft's part. I have read a ton of complaints to that effect when attempting to convert a child account when their age is under 13. On a side note, I was able to convert my other
child's local profile into an Xbox Live Gamertag and preserve their settings but they are over the age of 13. Thanks again!
