Unavailable Gamertag

I understand I'm reaching for the stars on this one but there HAS to be a way to get help with this so please help.

I have had the same xbox gamertag for years. I've finally decided to change it. I have typed many, many names into my xbox to check their availability. One of these I had my heart set on. It sounds dumb, but I'm peculiar about my gamertag. I want something
sort of original, although completely original is out of the question considering the amount of gamertags having been created over time. Here is my actual problem:

I tried to create a certain gamertag. I got the message that the gamertag was "unavailable." Yet, when i go to "friends" on my xbox and then type the gamertag i wish to switch to into "find someone" the gamertag comes up with no matches. This suggests that
the gamertag DOES NOT EXIST. But for some reason when i try to use it my xbox says its unavailable. This does not happen with any other gamertag that I have checked availability for. Normally, If it says the gamertag is "unavailable" i can always search the
gamertag using the "find someone" option and see that the gamertag does in fact exist. With a specific one I want, this is not the case. Is there anyway I can contact anyone higher up in the microsoft chain to get the gamertag released for public use? After
all, it technically doesn't exist according to the xbox "find someone" feature. Any feedback or any details on where I can go or who I can talk to would be extremely useful. I've been an xbox Customer for a long long time and think i deserve to have a gamertag
that seems to be lost in limbo.

I've had this problem before. If the gamertag is unavailable, then I guess its unavailable... Sorry man.

I will now attempt to give you an answer that you can comprehend.

"the gamertag Bonkers says its unavailable"

Unavailable- Not available, accessible, or at hand.

In other words, if the gamertag is unavailable, it is, as a matter of fact, not available.

 

This Gamertag may be one that is assigned but not used yet, as far as I know getting older Gamertags is not possible unless they are released by Microsoft.

Gamertags are used on other services,not just xbox live.

Also the system see's capital & lowercase letters as the same as well as spaces between letters so GAMERTAG would be the same as gamertag or Gamer Tag.

If an account has not logged on for 5 years then it is made available so your only option is to keep checking.

You can't request that a gamertag be freed up,no matter how long you've been on xbox live.
