Unauthorized charges and getting my moms new card number

How can Microsoft TAKE my debit card number information on a card that I JUST activated? Not just that but HOW can they activate my card on when I CANCELLED ALL SUBSCRIPTIONS and took all forms of payment options OFF of the account? Isn't that illegal???

So far, I've been disputing close to $1,500 worth of charges because Microsoft will NOT return my money for charges I DIDN'T authorize!

I've called their support line, I've gone through all of the disputes and Microsoft STILL says I authorized these charges because it came from my IP address? REALLY? Of COURSE they are from the same IP address. They STOLE my card number. Even after I asked
for help in ensuring that ALL my card information and payment information was NOT on this account.

Please help me understand how ANY of this is legal and how I can get my money back.

Well thats not even possible

And thats exactly what your bank will tell you

In order to add any card you meed physical access to the card or you entered the info on a phishy website or worse you have a serious security issue

Like a malware in which case you need to do an offline scan of your pc and dont do any bankjng until you do so

Windows defender has an offfline mode but firdt disconnect from the net or wifi and then reboot then do a blank scan from.the defender menu

Every ip must be unique unless you happen to use a proxy or vpn then you have a serious issue

I have charges on my debit card for xbox live. I do not even know what an xbx live is. I have had charges in September and now October.

How do I cancel this> when I do not subscribe??? Do I trust that when I change my debit card the xbox charge will stop> Or continue?

Please advise. Thank you - I cannot afford this.

I agree. That was my issue --- fraudulent charges on the credit card. I contacted the credit card company, and they addressed the problem. Unauthorized charges and a compromised card number may be what happened in your situation, too.

You are welcome. Well, if you got a new credit card (new number, new cvv, new everything) then this might be an unauthorized charge from someone that stoled your credit card information.

Either way, if you cannot access the account, you would need to contact your bank or credit card company to request them to stop all futures charges from Microsoft/Xbox.
