Unauthorised Gamertag name change

Hi there,

I'm concerned about my son's Gamertag/profile name has been changed without our permission.

Last night when he was playing Minecraft the game froze - when he re-started it his profile name had been changed from

nextlake0291 to .

His achievements, profile pic and everything else looks the same but we are concerned that we have been invaded in some way.

Please can you help?

Best thing to do in this situation would be to contact support
here & ask them to open an unauthorised access case.

If they find your account was not under your control when the gamertag was changed then they may give you a name change for free but there is no guarantee.

My name is Vagine Prabjhot and I just changed my Xbox LIVE account name yesterday. I believe my name has been reported and my account name now changed. I just paid $9.99CAD + tax. Why my account name has been changed is unknown to me. I did not read in
the Xbox LIVE rules that you can not use your name in your gamertag.

That doesn't look like a gamertag he would have been given with a forced name change. Try checking
https://commerce.microsoft.com In the transactions it would show if someone paid to change the name.
