Unable to use Xbox 360 after running update

So I currently have a Xbox 360 that cannot sign in with a profile as it constantly tell me to update it. When I try to update it I get the message:

Update failed

Can't download the update. To test your connection, open system settings... bla bla.

Status code: 4451 - 0000 - 3000 - 0902 - 8007 - 0070

I have tried to download the update and place it on a USB stick --> restart the Xbox --> proceed with update, where it now says extracting update --> then it fails with this message:

Update failed

Can't process the update. It the problem persists, go to
www.xbox.com/support

Status code: 4451 - 0000 - 3000 - 0902 - 8007 - 0070

I cannot find anything about that error code anywhere and I have reached out to Xbox support via chat.

This resulted in the supporter suggested I had to sent in the Xbox for repair, BUT I have to pay for it!

That is just unfair support as I have only tried to update the Xbox as I have been forced to, and when it fails I cannot login with my profiles anymore. Even when I have performed formatting of the storage unit in the Xbox and cleared the cache files, then
I cannot download my user profiles because I need to install the update... that cannot be done.

Thank you Microsoft, I now have an Xbox that is in limbo mode, and you do not want to fix it!!!

Unable to use LIVE after running update via USB & CDROM

Modem Brand and Model Number: (AT&T) Pace 2Wire model: 3801HGV integrated DSL Modem/Router. I should not that I turned off the firewall to no avail and all other devices in the house can connect via that router with no problems.

Update Error Message:

My system now gives me the following:

"A System update is required to sign in to Xbox LIVE, but the update is currently unavailable. If the problem persists, visit www.xbox.com/support."

Update Error Code (6 sets of 4 digits/letters each): See above: no error/status code after running update.

I followed the steps above in order and ended up installing via a USB device, then when receiving the message above went ahead and installed via a CDROM (thinking maybe my USB formatting produced an error of some sort). Same message after the CDROM.

Before that, if it's of any use, I got the following status code: 3F4A - 0000 - 0080 - 0300 - 8007 - 2F76

Problem solved. I removed the update via LB->RB->X->LB->RB->X. Then plugged into my other router (Belkin) and restarted my whole network and the update download from the web and installed fine. Bizarre.

 

So I have searched more around on the Xbox support site and forums and found this guide:

Where solution 2 fixed my issue:

Solution 2: Delete previously installed updates

1. On your console, go to settings, and then select System.
2. Select Storage.
3. Highlight the memory unit.
4. On the controller, press the following series of buttons: LB, RB,
   X, LB, RB, X. This opens the Delete System Update window.
   
5. Select Yes. This restarts the Xbox 360 console.
6. When the console restarts, you are prompted to install the latest updates. Follow the instructions to install the updates.
   

It would have been super nice if the Support agent had suggested this when I already informed him that I had formatted the HDD and he helped me clear the cache, maybe next step should have been wipe the System Update.

Next time I have issues with a system update, then I am going to get rid of the system update already installed to start from scratch.

 

So I searched some more on the Xbox Support forum and articles and I found this guide:

After removing the last system update, then I was able to perform system update again and this time with success.

It would have been nice if the Xbox support I chatted with earlier today had suggested this option, after we had cleared cache files on the device.

Next time I have an Xbox in limbo land after an update then I will use this guide to get rid of the system update.
