  1. Unable to use my Microsoft Account to make Xbox Live Purchases and the Support Team has been ...

    Okay let me start this off with saying that I will not call Microsoft Support. I have had no luck with them over the past five times I've contacted them and I refuse to waste another two hours either on the phone or chatting with a representative.

    So my issue is that back in March I bought a $20 Card to add to my account and hopefully by DLC for Battlefield 4. I typed in the code and I was given the notice that "$0 Had Been Added" to my Microsoft Account. I tried to make the purchase and it didn't
    show my Microsoft Account as a Payment Option to use, only the Visa Card I had on there previously.

    I called Customer Support and we tried to resolve the Issue. Upon further snooping I found that on the Xbox.com Website it showed me as having $0 in my account, but on the Microsoft.commerce.com website it showed me as having the full $20 that I should on
    my Microsoft Account. We talked for over an hour as she tried to reslve the issue to no avail so she set me up with the Advocacy Team. They were useless in all regards.

    The Advocacy Team continued to tell me in multiple emails to make sure that the Billing Information on my Microsoft Account was in accordance with that of the Visa Card. After continuously stating that, yes, the information was the same but the issue not
    resolved, they closed the case much to my chagrin.

    Two weeks later I once again called the Support Team, having bought 1600 Microsoft Points and once again getting the notification that "$0 Had Been Added" to my Account. This time I barely talked to the representative and was directed to the Advocacy Team
    once again. I never received their email and was completely blown off. This was extremely frustrating so I had my Brother-in-Law call the Support Line for me again.

    He talked to them for well over two hours and I was, once again, directed to the Advocacy Team. I emailed them back and forth for over a week and the issue never got resolved and despite this they closed my case yet again.

    Fast forward to Friday. I wanted to make a purchase for in-game content on World of Tanks and I was hoping to use my Microsoft Account along with the Visa Card to make the total purchase of $49.99 plus tax. My Microsoft Account wasn't a payment option so
    I decided to try Customer Support again and this time I decided to chat with IM's instead of with a phone.

    After talking to the representative we tried many different things to help me make the purchase and the constant issue was that my Xbox Live Account wasn't registering the $40 in my Microsoft Account and therefore wasn't allowing me to use it. Overall, he
    was quite nice and was helpful at trying to help me out. After we attempted a few purchases, all of which failed, he told me to wait 30-60 minutes for the failed transactions to clear off my account. He gave me a Service Number and told me to use it to talk
    to him again within the 30-60 minute period.

    So I waited and about 60 minutes later I used the Service Number and I was met with someone different then who I had recently talked to. Overall, he was just like the second person I had talked to when I called. He almost straight away went to push me off
    to the Advocacy Team and was not helpful in any way. I haven't even received the email informing of my Service Request Number for the Advocacy Team, I don't even think they were informed so I most likely got blown off by them again.

    Regardless, the only thing I wish is for me to actually be able to use and see my Microsoft Account as a Payment Option so I can make that purchase that I wanted to on Friday.

    :)

  3. Disputed purchases

    My son used my PayPal account without permission to make purchases through Xbox live. When I saw charges from Microsoft I did not recognize I notified PayPal about unauthorized charges, and shortly thereafter received a refund. Several days later my sons
    Xbox Live account was suspended. He admitted using my paypal account. I have attempted to make payment so the suspension can be lifted, but have been unable to do so despite multiple conversations with customer support asking for contact information for billing.
    I have been told that since there is an enforcement action there is nothing they can do, and they are unable to give me contact information for billing department so I can arrange to make payment for the purchases. Meanwhile the Enforcement Team believes fraud has
    been committed because payment was not made for purchases and therefore will enforce the suspension. Is there any way out of this catch-22?

    Sorry to hear it. Unfortunately, as this is a billing issue you are limited to phone support only. However, I do have a question for you.

    Where did you purchase the cards from? If they were online or not from your country (another possibility when purchasing online) the currency amount will not show up on your account. Currency purchased from another country can only be used when the tag
    is set to that country. You can double check this at commerce.microsoft.com.

  5. I bought both of the Cards from Gamestop so they should work perfectly fine. One thing I don't understand is why they just can't make it to where the money I paid for shows up in my Xbox Live account available for spending.

    I already gave them my money, now they need to return the favour.

  6. One thing I am not clear on, are you attempting to make the purchases via the website or on your console? The website does not yet support the use of currency in your account but making the purchase through the console usually will work. I say usually
    because there are certain instances where the developer will not allow you to split the payment between cc and your account funds.

    You didn't give Microsoft your money, you gave Gamestop your money, that's why the can't "just make it show up".

    @HomegrownSilky

    I am attempting to make the purchase on my Xbox 360 Elite Console. And the option to use my Microsoft Account isn't even showing up, it acts as if I have $0 in it when I spent $40 on it.

    @fredgiblet

    I paid $40 to be able to make Purchases on Xbox Live. But due to an error in Microsoft's System I can't even use this money that I purchased with my money to buy something that they'll make profit from. I still don't understand why they can't just register
    the currency that I've paid for already.
