Unable to upload game clips to YouTube

First off let me say that I have Google searched the heck out of this and cannot find an answer/solution to this problem!

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to upload recorded game clips from my XBox One to YouTube. There are no options that I can find in either Upload or Upload Studio (but I can upload to OneDrive from Upload Studio no problem).

I have found tutorials online that show how I should be able to upload clips directly using the YouTube app itself such as this video tutorial:



and also this written tutorial, which is basically the same thing:

However, my YouTube app looks NOTHING like the app in those tutorials. It's a slow, clunky app and I need to hit X on the controller to bring up a bright red menu on the left, instead of the sleek XBox-y menu shown in those tutorials. When I go to the
Uploads menu item in my ugly YouTube app, it says "Unable to load channel" instead of showing game clips available to upload.

Please help if you can! I'd rather not have the option to upload to YouTube at all than to know I should be able to do it but seem to be blocked from doing so at every turn.

Oh, in case it matters (because I know some apps aren't available unless I switch regions), my XBox is set to Canada (since I'm Canadian).

IVe change nothing, ive uploaded clips before or viewed old clips, suddenly those options are gone???

If you go to the YouTube app via X1 there is an option to upload clips/videos from your saved upload clips.

 

That's the old Youtube app. On the new one just push to the left on the direction pad or use the left thumbstick. In the menu that pops up you'll seen an option to Upload. You'll be able to upload your video files from there.

Only one at a time though.

 

I guess the question then becomes how do I get the new YouTube app? I only have the one, and it doesn't update when i open it nor is there a notification to update that i know of.

 

Your Youtube app should have updated automatically. Either when you accessed it or if you have your console set so that you can say Xbox On to turn it on it may have updated already for you.

Can you take a picture of your screen so I can see if yours is updated? I live in Canada as well so hopefully we have the same versions.

Other than what I posted above as well on how to upload you could also press X on the controller to open the Youtube Hub.

 

I just I countered this problem of getting the "unable to load channel" when I click on "upload" in the YouTube app. I think I may still have the old YouTube app. How can I fix this so I can use the upload feature in the YouTube app.

 

This is an older thread. For future reference it would be easier for you to create a new one detailing your issue for assistance.

Try deleting the app and then redownload it from the App Store.

 

I did delete it and reinstall it.. Didn't work. Any other ideas?
