Unable to upload game clip after editing

I'm trying out the new feature in the Xbox app that lets you edit your clips in any PC software and re-upload it to Xbox Live afterwards. I'm unsure of how I'm supposed to let the Xbox app know which game it's from though.

I downloaded lots of my Fallout 4 screenshots and clips directly from the Xbox app, loaded them up in Sony Vegas and made a little compilation. I saved the video back out as an mp4 file which is seen instantly by the Xbox app, and it lets me play it and
rename it - but under Game it says 'unknown'

This makes sense, as it's a brand new video file with no way of knowing where it came from. So how am I supposed to upload this clip? It tells me it can't recognise the game when I press upload. Is there a step I'm missing?

Upload or Upload to Skydrive, what is the difference?

I had the same question. Essentially the 'upload' only function would be if you wanted to edit your clip (add voice over etc etc) and then save this to your 'my clips' section for your friends to view, but not add to skydrive.

However, if you're not bothered about editing the video, you can effectively just say "xbox record that", which will record the clip, then go into my clips and ensure you save it to keep it there.

If you're not editing your clip, there's no need to re 'upload' it after saving it in your clips.

I've found this tutorial: but the problem I'm having is that search box with the list of supported games doesn't show up when I click upload. I have the latest version of the app.

I don't think you're missing a step here. We've had a few other users report this issue, so it could certainly be an issue with the Xbox app. If you haven't already, please submit feedback through the Xbox (beta) app and that will help to aid our investigation

Hi! Apologies, I forgot to update this thread. I managed to get it working with the beta app, but it still doesn't work with the 'full' app! Even with the latest update.

If it's working in the Xbox (beta) app it could be that we've already resolved the underlying issue and that fix just hasn't made it to the Xbox app as of yet. Glad to hear it's working in Xbox (beta) either way!

so I have alil concern I have edited a clip its uploaded to xbox but when I try to share it all it says is we cant show that right now can anyone help me with this I don't know if its the beta app or the save file but I'm open to anyway to fix it if u guys
can help

 

It takes a while, from a few hours to a whole day before you can share it - it's because it has to be moderated by Xbox staff.

Problem is, even though it takes that long, they don't seem to care what gets uploaded. People on the trending feed upload all kinds of random youtube rubbish (nothing to do with gaming) and it gets approved...

 

got it so ill check my feed and captures tomorrow to see if I'm able to share it thank u ive been waiting for this feature lolz
