Unable to update Xbox one controller via USB due to below error in Xbox Accessories

Can Anyone advise on the error I get when I connect my Xbox One Wireless Controller to Win 10 machine Via USB? At the point of connecting the controller is when the error first appears and does not load any driver information. If I click ok the loading wheel
just spins and nothing happens.

It is 10am 27th of October - where is the promised driver and the promised Xbox Accessories App?

HELP! my controller seems to be able to connect to my computer via usb cable and the wireless adapter but the Xbox accessories app is unable to detect a controller. When I first connected the controller via wireless adapter, it was able to detect it and
there were some driver updates, but it disconnected halfway through and after many retries, I have yet to be able to make Xbox Accessories detect controller.

I was wandering have you tried to update the xbox one controller and does this issue still occur? If you have not tried to update the controller the steps are here to follow.

Before trying these updates be sure the controller has the stereo adapter connected.

Wirelss Update
HERE - An Xbox One Wireless Controller purchased in or after June 2015 can take updates wirelessly without connecting via USB cable. This controller has a small, circular 3.5-mm port on the bottom of the controller; controllers without this port must update
via USB cable.

Wired Update
HERE - Follow these steps to update your controller via USB and to support the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter:

Thanks for reaching out to us! We understand this can be a frustrating situation. I do have a few questions. So,
the "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library runtime error" only occurs when the Xbox Controller is plugged in using a USB but does not happen with any other USBs or programs?




Is the PC completely up to date? Are the drivers up to date as well?




please try to perform a clean boot, this helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program
or an update or when you run a program in Windows 10. Here is the link on

restore corrupted files. It will scan your system files and to repair missing or corrupted system files in Windows.
