Unable to update original 360 via USB

Discus and support Unable to update original 360 via USB in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I have no way to connect my 360 to the internet, and I want to play video files that require a update....So I supposedly found a way to update via USB....     I have no way to connect my 360 to the internet, and I want to play video files that require a update....So I supposedly found a way to update via USB.

    I followed the directions I
    found here     but it doesn't seem to work. I try to go through the 'storage' option, and it shows nothing as being on the flash drive.

    I know for a fact its on the right format because I re-formatted it just to be sure. When I go to the option where I try to transfer the information from my USB drive to my 360s hard drive, it says there are 154MB of space used up (the system updates). Not
    sure what else to do to try and get an update to it either....

    Migrating via USB STICK ISSUES

    i had an original XBOX 360 that i would back up my GAMES on via USB. I recently bought a new XBOX 360 because the original was about to die. Before it died, I performed another backup and cleared/reset the original XBOX without the USB stick in it. After
    the clear, i was able to perform a complete restore via the USB for my saved games.

    I recently tried to finish the migration after the OLD XBOX finally died and I was unable to do a restore. The USB Stick in the new xbox 360 only gives me the option to format it.....

    I mounted the drive under Linux and see the files and my MD5 Hash matches the USB stick from the previous XBOX so I know it is good to go.....

    Can anyone help me, i would really like to not lose the 6 years worth of game data.....

    An Internet connection is not required to play games on the list as long as the latest dashboard update is applied from a

    USB flash drive     (or CD or DVD) and not via download. The USB/CD/DVD update contains the most up-to-date set of backwards compatability emulators available.

    Need Help Trinity Vs. Corona

    Not much. Corona provides more power to the USB ports and unofficially supported original Memory Units via USB to MU adapters on the front USB ports.



    Trinity does away with original MU support via adapters and lowers the power available on USB ports, I find. Attaching HDDs via the transfer cable on a Trinitiy using the new 360/360 S compatible cable is best done via the rear USB ports as the fronts don't
    provide enough power.



    Corona's been discontinued for a while. If you buy one, you're not going to have warranty support.



    I possess two Corona consoles (Halo Reach, Gears of War), and three Trinity consoles (MW3, Star Wars, Halo 4). The MW3 is my primary console and it's been fine.
